Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1- What is included in the demo version ?

Demo version is meant to provide you a "look and feel" of the software only and you won't be able to run a motor with this version. It is provided with .sof file to configure FPGA (of your Intel MAX10 ® FPGA Development kit) and software reference design that can be modified within Intel Nios® II Embedded Design Suite (EDS). Alizem IP is accessed through software API and reference hardware design (QSys + VHDL files) are not provided.

Note that product features mentionned above are available but not necessarily all integrated into demo version.

2- What do you mean by a "perpetual production license" and what is the benefit for my company?

It means that you can manufacture the indicated amount of products per year (in this case 10) with Alizem IP forever. Since the license is not limited in time, you won't reach the situation where the license is expiring while you are successfully selling your products.

3- OK, it looks great but I would like to get this IP modified to fit exactly my application. Is it possible?

Yes. We may do so via an engineering contract. Please contact us to discuss your exact needs.

4- My design uses a DC motor, not a PMSM/BLDC motor. Do you have a solution for those motors?

Yes! Please have a look at this product: Alizem DC Motor Control Embedded Software.

5- I know Intel has developped a new multi-axis motor control board (Tandem Motion-Power 48 V Board). Can Alizem IP work with this board?

Yes. While Alizem doesn't offer (yet) a reference design for this specific board, you can customize provided Alizem reference design to fit this board without modifying Alizem IP. If you are not sure, you can hire Alizem to do it for you.
