Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1- Can I validate Alizem IP even if I don't have a Maxon BLDC Motor?

Yes. With the basic kit, you can run Alizem IP demo on an Intel Cyclone10 FPGA Evaluation kit and check the output PWM voltage on the inverter. This is a rough way to assess and test Alizem IP. Once satisfied, you can order the motor and encoder directly from Maxon e-shop as a second step.

2- If I already have a 3-phase BLDC/PMSM motor here, can I use it with the demo?

Yes if : (1) it is similar range of power (30W, not 1kW) and (2) it has an incremental encoder with single-ended A&B channels.

We can't garuantee it will be 'plug and play' as if you order the indicated MAXON BLDC motor but after some tuning it should work. If not sure, please order your kit with the MAXON motor option.
